I am a typical city person! Skyscrapers attract me more than beaches or the hills, but sometimes I feel like escaping the hustle-bustle of the city life.

When people talk about planning trips we usually start by surfing the net or looking at different European destinations.

We forget that our country is so beautiful.

Here is a list of 10 fantastic places around India which should definitely be a part of your bucket list.

  1. Lakshadweep Islands

Located off the coast of Kerala, Lakshadweep is spread over 36 Islands, yes you read that right! And it is surrounded by 4,200 sq. km of lagoon rich in marine life and is one the most magnificent tropical island systems. It is in fact, a sparkling emerald-studded jewel adorning India’s south-western frontier. 

  1. Kodaikanal

Located in Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal is not only a popular tourist destination but also an extremely well known as a honeymoon destination. Pleasant weather, lush-green forests and dense-leafy hills are some of the main attractions here.

Famous for its salubrious climate, lush hills, and vast expanse of tea plantations this is place you should visit for some peace and quiet. This ‘oh so beautiful’ hill-station from God’s own country, Kerala, will be a wonderful experience.

Located at a height of 2165 meters above sea level, Sarahan is the perfect place if you want to stroll on the apple orchards or get lost in the pine forest there. Slate roofed houses and small streams add a special charm to this tiny place located in the Sutlej Valley.
