Since its opening back in 2009, the first of its kind restaurant that started off serving truly modern Indian cuisine opens up at The Lodhi, New Delhi. Lead by a seasoned veteran in the F&B space, Chef Manish Mehrotra’s restaurant Indian Accent, has consistently set the industry benchmarks to some of the highest standards in fine dining ever found in India. With a global footprint now already existing in both sides of the Atlantic, Indian Accent has managed to distinctly stand out with its contemporary fusion of Indian cuisine blended with experimental culinary exploits.
Aside a never ending trail of milestones, this restaurant also happens to be the only restaurant in India to have gotten featured in World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017, including San Pellegrino Best Restaurant Award by – Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017 for the 3rd consecutive year & officially the No.1 rated Indian restaurant by TripAdvisor for 4 years in a row continuing this year.
When Chef Manish got candid with Food and Nightlife about his passion & talked about what drives him in this industry, he exuded the critical spot of what his roots meant to him & his venture. He distilled his thoughts down to how they influence his cooking style which gives each recipe their signature authenticity.
Viewing through futuristic optics of how he wants to melt his style further into this sector to help creating a space the Indian cuisine for how it truly warrants on an urban platter, he says, “Indian food will become more famous and get more respect. Globally, Indian food has not achieved the level of respect it deserves. That is my ultimate goal — to bring more respect to Indian food.”
