I know you’re probably rolling your eyes about how this article is going to fool you, and eating can’t possibly help you quit smoking. Quitting the habit of taking smoke breaks, and letting go of the addictive nicotine kick is one of the hardest routines to break. But, trust me, it’s true—certain foods instigate you to smoke, and certain make cigarettes taste bad. There are proven foods that make cigarettes taste worse. Have a look:
Oats lessen nicotine cravings, and if taken regularly, are known to be one of the most successful home remedies for quitting the nicotine.
- Vitamin C for We Will See
Peel an orange or drink a glass of fresh orange juice instead of lighting a cigarette. Its smell distracts your senses, and fends off the urge that lasts only 3-5 minutes. Fruits like amla, orange, guava and lemon fill in the vitamin C that cigarettes deprive you of.
- High Alkaline Sounds Fine
Foods like raisins, figs, spinach, whole-grain breads, pastas, millet, quinoa, brown rice, almonds and starchy vegetables like potatoes and corn keep nicotine circulating in your body. This reduces the need to consume any more nicotine because of the presence of the already high levels of the addictive stuff in your system. Besides, the fragrance of dry fruits lower cravings.
